A good day in Rome

Today was really fun because for lunch we had chocolate butterfly pasta, but it didn't taste like chocolate.

[Above: Danielle and the cacao butterfly pasta, normally served with a generous knob of butter, cream, ricotta cheese and minced walnuts. Our landlord left us the pasta, and since most stores nearby are closed for the August vacation period, we ended up making an impromptu version of this for lunch, substituting peanuts for walnuts. -K]

At night we went to Castel Sant Angelo. It was fun. We saw a magician there.

Hi Danielle,
Did you like that castle? This is where a wonderful opera called TOSCA took place, it is the story of a beautiful singer and her love for a great artist who painted madonnas.
When you are older I will take you to see it and I know you will love it!
Kisses,
Grandma Denise

Hi Grandma Denise,
That sounds fun! The castle was fun. My favorite thing about the castle was that we got to see a magician. In one part he made a mouse jump out on the crowd. It was so funny because the last thing was make two rings go together. It was so cool. Love, Danielle
